I thought I had posted a final resolution to this problem on monday, but I   
haven't seen it show up on SCOUG.   
 
Anyway, after taking another look at the config.sys, I found I had coded a   
device= statement as a basedev=, and I had to move one program from disk1 to   
disk2. Once I corrected those thing (having made Steven's recommneded   
changes) the diskettes worked for the hard drives, dvd, and cdrom; only the   
fat32 support is lacking, and it's not essential.
