Suggested plan for hardware that doesn't work:
Every use of hardware under OS/2 is "off label". I guess Memorex is
about to be the exception.
Check it under the conditions that will be assumed by the vendors tech
support. In the case of a CD burner how does it work with the
software that was bundled with it? Today that typically means
Win\Nero. If that works it means it works as the vendor intended.
RJS has always been a problem for me.
Yesterday I burned two CDs at 48X. One was UPDATECD accessing
CDRecord/2. The other was Audio/Data-CD-Creator accessing CDRecord/2.
Both were very simple processes. Both used GQ media; you know that
cheap stuff that Fry's sells. My point here is, the process CAN work.
And 52X burners are what, $25? Keep a spare.
Don't make a career out of it.
