Last time was maybe a year ago regarding my Dad's Dell or something like
that and I had no problems. I do business with a number of folks that
live in countries other than the US. Accents go with the territory. I
can guarantee we seem odd to them too.

As it should be. The US has no divine right to prosperity and 1st world
status, unless we earn it.
