I don't think so. > redirects standard out, 2> redirects standard error.   
> is actually a shorthand for 1> and < is a shorthand for 0<.  In terms of  
file handles:  
 
 0  standard in  
 1  standard out  
 2  standard error  
 
DOS defines  
 
 3 standard print  
 4 standard aux output  
 
but these are rarely used.
