Peter's confused. I doubt he has any applet or object tags in the page.
Even if he did, since from the browser's POV he does not have Java
installed, if anything the page should load faster.

I suspect he is suffering from a slow processor coupled with a slow video
card. The may also have some inappropriate history and cache settings.
