OK. I'm not quite sure how you might conclude that. The docs show that
-path-list takes a single filename as an argument as does -exclude-list.
These are the only switches that take a path-list file as an argument.
The only purpose of -past-list and -exclude-list are to shorten the
command line. Both functions can be done entirely from the command line
without using pathlist files.

Not quite. As my example shows. Each pathlist file can contain one or
more pathspecs.

OK. I don't know why you might conclude that. The shell is going to
interpret the percent signs long before mkisofs ever has a chance to see
them.

I understood that. That's why my example did not contain the switch.

You probably want to read up on variable substitution in cmd.exe. From
the command line:
view cmdref parameters
Once inside cmdref.inf, search for replaceable. This is with the original
view.exe. newview.exe might give different search results.
