So, I have the chance to provide a bit more information.)

I tried my MS Office files, and OpenOffice seems to handle them well
enough. The only issue I saw was that two "bulleted lists" didn't render
just right. I was able to output in PDF format, and presumably I could
print that file.

However, I couldn't print anything directly. I tried pointing at my
Epson C82, and OpenOffice said it was creating six pages, but they were
all blank. I also tried printing to my "PDF Writer", but after the six
pages were created, I never got asked what file name to give to the
output file.

Other are reporting this problem on the Innotek Support Forum.
