I wish I could, but that can't happen......
>What apps do you think would be useful to be able to run under Odin?
From my POV:
Paint Shop Pro (v5?) (used to work, now it opens, and crashes)
Palm Pilot tools (USB)
Rand McNally Tripmaker 2000
TaxAct ( I mean on my PC, not online)
PAF (LDS Genealogy Software. I know, I am probably the only one ) Some form
of Front Page-like, full blown web page software.
Quicken whateveryearitis
I am aware of the complexities of ODIN, and I understand some of the
limitations, due to either the apps, or the amount of resources working on it.
Just wishing and hoping that one day...... :-)
Are you inferring that there are tweaks and configurations that those "in the
know" can apply which might help make some of these run? The TaxAct opens, but
says the basic form is not in the directory, even tho it is, the genealogy
package runs, but there is no text visible. I use Delorme map software and it
works, but no printing. Does anything ODINized print?
I confess I have never done anything more than use the latest build, get the
DLLs in the right place, and either go, or no go. Also, I use the PE
executable, not the installed kernel32 method.
As an aside, I am officially confused about the latest ODIN builds. I see a ton
of up to date daily builds, but nothing new in weekly since I think last
november. Should I assume the daily builds are stable and use the latest? They
are all in zip format, and the latest weekly I installed was a warpin file. Will
just unzipping update everything? Not really sure what to do. Since I do have a
couple of things running with ODIN, I don't want to screw them up.
Someone in one of the groups mentioned that the builds were now available on
another OS/2 site, but I lost the link, if anyone recalls it.....
Much obliged for any insight or suggestions.
Thanks,
John
