Ray,
I agree with everything you said. My problem turned out to be a conflict with IWB,
because of its LIBPATH (and PATH) entries in the CONFIG.SYS. I remove these
entries, but left IWB otherwise installed (at that time UniMaint was not working, so I could
not uninstall IWB). Anyway, I rebooted and Mozilla worked just fine.
I'm using Mozilla, as easy as DOS, without any entries in the CONFIG.SYS
