I am a big fan of Svobi, but not a big fan of excessive quoting.   
 
I believe proper etiquette indicates that a person quotes enough   
to enable the reader to identify the context of the reply,   
but NOT repeat the entire thread.  That way, a reader can go back   
and read earlier messages if not familiar with the content.   
 
I suggest that one to three lines is adequate, and 5 lines is maximum.   
 
I get the digest of several lists, and excessive quoting quickly adds   
to the message volume.  Those readers on slow connections really suffer.
