I feel like I'm making some progress.  I was the successful bidder for a  
Plextor PX-W2410A on eBay.  I await its arrival.  In the meantime, I have  
purchased RSJ, so -- with luck -- I should be ready to roll once the hardware  
is in hand and installed.
