Regarding your HW consideration:

Well, Sony may be a good brand but regarding reputation =

I do and would also following the suggestion to Plextor !

Beside of choosing by brand I would recommend choosing =

by RSJ supported HW list !!

Would be somewhat disappointing buying an Sony CRX220A =

and learn that it will not work or get supported possibly !?

Another question: Plextor has "Burnproof" ! Does your Sony =

have it too ?

Myself I do like very much th have the burner as a SCSI unit =

independently from the IDE environment and this would be =

my suggestion to consider !!!

Regards, svobi

I don't know anything about the Sony, but can highly recommend
Plextors. =

I have a SCSI SCSI R/RW from them, that's been great, but now they
seemed
to be dropping SCSI like many others. I've heard that their IDE drives
continue their reputation for high quality.

I don't even know if you can find them at Fry's. Order them via
Internet. =

Where *are* you living?
