You are correct. (I had an exchange of messages about BOOTABLE with the author, months before this
thread.) His "recipe" for the bootable cd requires *all* of the mentioned ingredients (incl. the 2.88M
virtual floppy . . . and I think there may be _another_ Ram Disk involved, as well ?), deployed in a
very specific setup. Deviating from this in any way is apt to be a problem. The author informs me that
quite a few people have produced the desired result with BOOTABLE.
The reason I have not tried this yet is because it appears to be a project -- albeit what looks like a
much more accessible approach than any of the others I've come across for making a bootable maintenance
cd -- and I'm not seeking extra projects at the moment. As soon as I am, this will have a relatively
high priority.
