Sorry that you are having problems after attempting to install Linux. My=
suggestion (I should have written it in more detail) is to use
CHKDSK to correct the errors your partition(s). For example, on your J:\=
partition you could enter the following at a commandline:
CHKDSK J: /F
The "/F" parameter will cause CHKDSK to attempt to fix any errors it fin=
ds. A couple of cautions:
1. I would run CHKDSK do it from a maintenance OS boot (like booting fr=
om diskettes or booting to a maintenance OS
partition) and not from your normal production OS
2. CHKDSK may successfully fix all the problems it finds. If so, you wi=
ll be able to see and use that partition
afterwards. However, you may lose some data, because CHKDSK places lost =
clusters and such in a folder. You may be unable to
decypher the results and restore the lost data. Therefore, if that happe=
ns you may be better off simply restoring your partition from
your latest backup
But try it and see. CHKDSK may help you just enough
