The Domain Name Server you are using didn't convert "www.abcdef.com" to
a dotted decimal IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). If the target site
wasn't responding (or was blocked) you would get a "No response" error
message.

First, run NSLOOKUP to see if the name server can find the target:

nslookup www.abcdef.com

Second, if NSLOOKUP succeeds but your browser still fails, use a
different name server.

If there is a 30-second or 60-second delay before the error message
appears, your browser might be timing out before the name server returns
the answer. See if the delay before the error message appears is always
the same number of seconds.

What name server(s) are you using?

If you still want to get to the site but your browser keeps giving you
the error, use a WHOIS lookup on the target to find their origination
name server (typically run by the ISP they use), look near the bottom of
the information for the name servers, then use NSLOOKUP to find the IP
address in _that_ name server (rather than yours), and then surf using
the IP address.
