I get a number of embedded system magazines and catalogs. I've seen
several standalone nic products but didn't pay attention to their
prices. Don't know how much work is involved in programming one to
become a printer NIC. Also have to get the power requirements to see if
the printer cable can supply what it needs.

I'm going to have to get one just so I can take it apart. (I *love* to
take things apart. You should see all the parts I have!)
