I don't recall this thread. My usual recommendation for these kinds of
problems is to use iptrace/ipformat to find out which side is dead.

netstat -s can also be helpful at times, especially if you have Peter's
open sockets problem.

Since you are running eCS, I would check www.ecomstation.com. There have
been several TCP/IP fixes released along with a full 4.3 refresh.
