I believe that there is a not very well documented problem with
Multimedia Application Install, MINSTALL.EXE. Before you press the
button to install the new soundcard files, you have to move the
application window half-way off your computer screen. There is some
unresolved video issue with that application. Another way to use it is
to install using VGA mode (I'm sure you do not want to go back to VGA).
Anyway, after you place it half off the screen, press install. It should
work.
