I have been using Blackout.exe as a screen blanker for many years.

Recently I purchased a flat panel LCD monitor. I was getting periodic
flickering of the backlight. Sometimes it would stay off for several
minutes. I returned the monitor, but the company couldn't find anything
wrong with it, and they asked me to keep using it until it failed.

Then, on a hunch, I removed Blackout from my startup folder. The screen is
on now all the time, and so far, there has been no flickering. My video
card is a Matrox G200 with 16 MB RAM and the latest OS/2 drivers and the
latest flash bio upgrade.

Could it be that Blackout is causing the problem? If so, is it OK to leave
the screen on all the time, or is there a safer screen blanker available?
