Any CONFIG.SYS driver leftovers? Try this from the root of your boot
drive:

find /i "ide"

The old Back Again/2 has a special IDE filter driver; Daniella has an
IDE driver. When OS/2 boots it may be loading an IBM or third-party IDE
driver which is staying resident.
