Just finished an experiment. I had a backup of my C: (boot) partition dated
12/31/1999. I reformatted my C: partition and restored this backup. After
restoration, I tried the Digital Audio editor, but found that it was broken
when that backup was made.

The objective of this experiment was to determine if the breakage might have
occurred as a part of the desktop updates I did during the year 2000. The
described result lets the desktop enhancers I have installed now off the hook.
Unfortunately, I don't have a backup that predates the installation of Object
Desktop, so I cannot definitely rule it out of the source of my problem.
However, I do recall that the object worked for some time after I installed
Warp4, and Object Desktop was a part of my system from the initial Warp4
installation.

Still hoping for some suggestions/ideas from others who subscribe to this list.
