Well, I typed in the command line exactly as you

suggested and after PM DLL loaded, it presented me

with a file selection box. I thought that was a

little weird considering that the file was a command

line argument. Nevertheless, I selected

DSPINSTL.EXE in C:\OS2\INSTALL and PM DLL produced

the following error: PM DLL tree view 2.8; Could

not open D:\CONFIG.SYS. There is no such beast (C:

is solely one HPFS partition and D: is the CDROM)

and there never has been a D:\CONFIG.SYS from the

day the machine had OS/2 first installed.

I did a quick scan of the remaining keys in the .INI

file for D:\CONFIG.SYS, then C:\CONFIG.SYS for how

the machine could be confused in this way, but I

couldn't find anything.

There is a deeper problem here. I am finally

getting the feeling here that once this problem is

addressed, it will have been the root of my video

installation problem.
