I just saw this note in a mail list I'm on:

The OS2CDROM.DMD i used (10.040) is buggy. By
using this version the CD-ROM (Plextor) works
fine, the CD-RW (Yamaha) can't read anything!

First i changed to an older OS2CDROM.DMD
(10.031) (o.k.) but now i use the latest
  OS2CDROM.DMD (10.051) - all works fine.

I typed my own OS2CDROM.DMD onto the screen and it contains this string:

IBM:9.36#@ Device Manager Driver for CDROM

which *might* mean its level is 9.36 (the file date is 2-09-98). Well,
the duck is out of the bag now -- I haven't updated my IDEDASD stuff in
three years. I'll update it "real soon now".
Question: How do you determine the "level" of a driver (the 10.051 in
the above message)? Is there a utility which will tell me the level?
I'd like to be able to do something like:

  (hypothetical)
  C:>DVRLVLID \BOOT\OS2\OS2CDROM.DMD
  OS2CDROM.DMD driver level is 9.36

so I can extract a driver level into another program for system
auditing.

I tried SYSLEVEL.EXE but it just returns the contents of the SYSLEVEL.*
files.
