Short version of question(s): What could prevent a Java console from
displaying? What can I do to check my Java installation?

Long version: First off, from all appearances, java seems to have been
installed properly all with latest updates. Issuing the command "java
-fullversion" at an OS/2 command line reports 'JAVA.EXE full version
"JDK 1.1.8 IBM build o118-20010426 (JIT enabled: javax
V3.5-IBMJDK1.1-20010426)"' or something very, very close (I'm at a
different machine) so there's no apparent problem there. However, at
the machine concerned, I can't get Java apps to run from Netscape. I
tried to run the on-line cribbage card game from Yahoo, and nothing
happens. I can't even bring up the Java console to see if there are any
error messages. I'm not sure it is running Java apps at all. Of
course, it works fine on other machines with similar configurations
(OS/2 level, same Netscape, same Java fix level, same video card and
driver version). What tests can be performed to diagnose the problem
(if one can suggest an on-line, or even on-disk troubleshooting source -
I'd be glad to use that - I don't want to tie up the scoug-help
bandwidth since I've been leaning on it pretty heavily lately)? Thanks.
