Subject: Off-line mail readers

The Los Angeles Valley College BBS, that I've been using for internet
e-mail, is shutting down the end of this week. That means I have to
develop a whole new e-mail setup to take the place of the BBS/Qwk
downloads that have worked so nicely in the past.

I have WWW access through another service (Los Angeles Freenet); and
already have an alternate e-mail address (jnpf@usa.net) with the
American Express AmExMail service. AmExMail tells me that "POP
compliant e-mail software" is requried for off-line reading and
writing of mail. I presume that MR/2-ICE is such; but understand
that it's broken by FixPak 10.

Any recommendations--or even suggestions?
