Installation prerequisites
• Must have a 32bit TCP/IP stack (TCP/IP Version 4.1, 4.2x and 4.3x), not version 4.0x or earlier
• CANNOT have NetBIOS over TCP/IP installed, because Samba uses that protocol internally
• Run Multi-Protocol Transport Services (MPTS), located in the Network folder, inside the System Setup folder, to remove NetBIOS over TCP/IP
• If you installed the InJoy firewall, temporarily uninstall it, first, to gain access to MPTS



WarpIN package easier to install than Zip package
• Fewer packages and files to install
• Warns you if you attempt to install something out of order



Server installation
• Installs into varous directories as follows:
• Most of the files go to a directory of your chosing
• Remaining files go to the following directories on your boot drive
• ecs\system\samba
• MPTN\ETC\samba
• Install the server in the following order:
• Rexx libraries required for the GUI Tools, rxlib4smb.wpi
• This one should be first, I think??
• Required for the Zip installation package format, or the alternative WarpIN installation package
• Zip package format
• Server core files, samba-1-1-2.zip
• GUI Tool for server configuration and installation, sscc-102-20110627.zip
• GUI Tool for user and group administration, smbusers-100-20110627.zip
• GUI Tool for for Samba status monitoring,
• GUI Tool for for Samba status monitoring, smbmon-190-20100815.zip
• WarpIN package format: Installation package, samba-1-1-2.wpi
• Respond to any prompts for configuring accounts and passwords
• The root account
• The guest account
• You must have both accounts (cannot change that); you can change the passwords later



Client installation
